March Madness: The Biggest Game Releases Of The Month

Here are some of the biggest games of the month: WWE 2K24, The game has been somewhat overshadowed by recent events at the home of the powerslams and the arrival of RKOs.

This year’s Wrestlemania Showcase promises to be a blast from the past. And with Wrestlemania 40 set to be the biggest live event in the history of the sport, it’ll be interesting to look back at the matches that defined the showcase of the immortal.

This month, Nintendo fans can look forward to the release of Princess Peach Showtime and the upcoming Unicorn Overlord. Meanwhile, on the PlayStation side of the spectrum, Team Ninja returns with a hack and slash-and-shoot adventure that takes players on a wild ride across Japan during a time of transformation in Rise of the Roin.

Game Releases Of March

The Mobius Machine – March 1

The Moebius Machine is a new game in the Metroidvania genre, set to launch in March. It has a sci-fi aesthetic, big boss battles, and a focus on shooting your way out of difficult situations. In this 2D adventure game that uses 3D graphics, you will traverse the land, sea, and sky of the moon of Isolaria while fighting the local flora and fauna, infected settlers, and abandoned machines.

The Outlast Trials – March 5

Outlast’s next game is taking the hide-and-seek game to the next level, as you and your friends test your stealth skills in this new co-op mode. The Outlast Trials isn’t just a game of hide and seek. 

As you explore the depths of Murkoff’s corporate facility to experiment with new ways to brainwash and control your mind, you’ll be presented with multiple chances to build a more resilient survivor. After being released in Steam Early Access last year on PC, this will be the full 1.0 version of the game when it arrives on PC and consoles.

Unicorn Overlord – March 8

Vanillaware’s upcoming tactical-role-playing game Unicorn Overlord is sure to whet the appetites of fans of 13 Sentinels, Aegis Rim, and Odin Sphere, as it’s set to launch this month. 

Set in an ever-evolving world, you’ll recruit dozens of unique characters to join your army, engage in epic battles, and master a sophisticated combat system in this visually stunning adventure.

WWE 2K24 – March 8

WWE games have seen a significant improvement since the series returned in 2022 after a one-year hiatus. This year’s installment of the annual series looks to capitalize on the renewed momentum of the franchise. 

The game will also have an updated roster and match types, so you’ll be able to smash your way through your opponents in this year’s Ambulance matches and Backstage brawls. Wrestlemania is the theme of this year’s Showcase Mode, and it’s a great way for fans to take a nostalgic journey back in time.

You’ll be able to relive the highs and lows of 21 legendary Wrestlemania matches spanning 40 years of the event.

Outcast: A New Beginning – March 15

Yes, it’s indeed been almost 25 years since Outcast came out, but the sequel is finally coming out this month. Outcast continues Cutter Slade’s adventures on the planet Adelpha with some of the game’s biggest names leading its development. The game also features an open world, a jetpack, and some air-breathing chaos as Cutter takes on the hordes of robot colonizers.

Alone in the Dark – March 20

After a few postponements, Alone in the Dark is set to return to theaters in March with a host of new scariest scenes. Derceto Manor is a psychological 3D horror game where you explore a mansion haunted by mysterious puzzles, deadly foes, and a mysterious force.

There is also star power on the side, with Emily Hartwood’s Edward Carnby and Comer’s character played by David Harbour and Joanna Lumley respectively.

Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Collection – March 21

Sony has maintained a two-year window for porting its most popular PS5 games to PC, and this month Horizon Forbidden West is making its PC debut. Not only can PC gamers look forward to a gorgeous sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, but they’ll also be able to enjoy the new Burning Shores expansion in this comprehensive collection.

On the technical side, unlocked frame rates will be available, graphics settings will be adjustable, and the game will support ultrawide.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – March 22

Dragon’s Dogma 2, one of the biggest games of March, takes us back to the world of adventure. As in the original game, you’ll have the freedom to choose how you want to play, with classes such as the Wayfarer vocation providing even more options.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to be one of March’s most magical events, with a brand new Pawn system, epic battles, and a reimagined world inspired by medieval art.

Princess Peach: Showtime – March 22

It’s time to say goodbye to Mario, as Princess Peach takes the lead in this month’s biggest Nintendo game in almost 20 years. After visiting Sparkle Theater Peach’s day is cut short by Grape and Sour Bunch taking over the venue. 

What does a princess do? Protect her people, that’s what! In addition to being one of the most powerful characters in the game, Peach can transform into a variety of different characters and weapons when she wears theatrical outfits. Some of the characters she can transform into include Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach, and Patisserie Peach.

Rise of the Ronin – March 22

Team Ninja, the studio behind Ninja Gaiden and the upcoming Nioh, has earned a reputation for creating high-quality action games over the years, and this year they’re set to take a look at the past in Rise Of The Ronin. Rise of the Ronin is an open-world game that will introduce you to a nameless samurai during a civil war and a tumultuous period in Japan.

In addition to meeting historical figures and creating your destiny, you will also learn how to use swords and weapons in this adventure set during the period of the Bakumatsu.

Legend of Legacy HD Remastered – March 22

While Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is sure to take up every waking moment in March, if you’re looking for a more traditional take on the RPG world of old, look no further than The Legend Of Legacy HD.

In high-definition, the game features a new guidebook feature to help new players begin their journey, seven characters to guide you on your journey, and powerful spirit powers to use in combat as you take on the legend of Avalon.

South Park: Snow Day – March 26

While previous South Park titles were 2D games, Snow Day will give the franchise a 3D twist and transition the gameplay from single-player to co-operative multiplayer. Once again, you’ll be the new kid on the block caught up in Cartman’s, Stan’s, Kyle’s, and Kenny’s latest escapades.

Open Roads – March 28

Open Roads is an adventure game that follows a mother and daughter on a cross-country journey to uncover the secrets of their family history. Kaitlyn Dever stars as Tess, with Keri Russell (The Americans) joining the cast as her mom Opal.

Open Road is a first-person adventure that combines traditional character animation with an interactive dialogue system for an immersive journey full of mystery and conversation.
